Tips to Install Ceramic Floor Tile Grouting Ceramic Tile

Grouting your ceramic tiles is one of the most important parts of learning how to tile a floor properly. In order to get your floor tiles ready for grout, you will need to let the tiles set for at least 24 -48 hours. Grout is used to fill the gaps between the tiles and comes in a number of colors. Moreover, they are very easy to apply. All you need to do is mix the grout properly with water. Make sure that there are no lumps remaining in the mixture. In addition, you will need a rubber trowel to apply the grout on to your floor.

You can either opt for a sanded or un-sanded grout. However, the sanded grout is much stronger and is suitable for joints that are larger than 1/8 inch wide. After applying the mixture, keep it for at least 30 minutes and then clean it from the tile. However, the grout may still glaze over on the surface of the tile. You can clean it with water and tile sponge for the second time after an hour or so. In case you come across stubborn areas, use a little vinegar in water in order to remover the dirt. Allow approximately 24 hours as drying time and then mop your floor with a soft and clean sponge or cloth.
